PEEPS: Play and Exploration-based Education for Preschoolers PEEPS is a one day a week, 26 week-long play and exploration-based education program for preschoolers. It will provide opportunities for little ones to develop social skills, language skills, cognitive skills, and fine and large motor skills through: organized and free play, singing, Bible memorization, storytime, simple phonics lessons, nature exploration, and crafts. We believe that play and exploration are the best avenues of learning for preschoolers. Preschoolers are naturally inquisitive, mobile, and social, and we designed the PEEPS program to support the way God made them. While we will introduce some academic concepts through PEEPS, we will do it in a way that is introductory and hands-on as opposed to rigorous. We hope that the diverse setting of the farm will provide ample opportunities for meaningful learning and fun. Each week, we will introduce one of the letters of the alphabet. We will introduce its shape and sound(s). Each letter will then inspire a farm/nature-related theme for the week, which we will connect to other elements of the day. We will cover all 26 letters, but we will not cover them in order. Letters/themes will be presented in an order that best connects to the season. For example: “Aa” - theme: “apples” - read alouds: “How to make an Apple Pie and See the World” and “Apple Picking” - game: pom-pom apple picking - craft: apple prints PEEPS is not a preschool, but rather a program for preschoolers. We depend on some parents' willingness to attend and help out in order to help us manage the group. At minimum, we would like 2 parents available weekly to be an extra set of eyes and lend a helping hand as needed. Children who are not potty-trained must have a parent/guardian on site at all times. Younger siblings (infant- age 2) are welcomed to accompany their parent and older sibling(s).
